Howdy All,
Yippeee!!!, we are finally seeing the back of winter, I can't wait for some warmer weather to come our way. Hopefully this will bring our students out of hibernation. We lose so many students over the winter break, it will good to have them back into a regular routine.
Things have been a bit quiet over the winter months, but that is all about to change. The Mildura Country Music Festival is fast approaching, I can't believe how quick this has come around. I will there doing workshops & socials for the 10 day duration of the festival, so if you are up there, make sure you come along to my workshops, say G'day & learn some great dances.
Not long after Mildura has finished, we will be heading off to Albury for our weekend away at the Kinross Woolshed. This is such a great venue, with a huge dance floor, pokies, pool tables, great food & dancing to suit everyone from Clogging, Partner Dancing, & of course Line Dancing. This weekend is packed to the rafters every year. Looking forward to seeing you there in 2008.
We have been learning some awesome dances during the past few months, some of our favourites are:
"Fire On Ice", "Words", "Rebel Amor", "Just The Guy To Do It", "The Healing Side", & probably our current favourite in all our Intermediate classes is Tim Gauci's dance "God Must Be Busy", this dance has taken off so well, I still get asked to finish our classes with this dance, great dance, if you haven't had a go at this dance yet, make sure you have look at it soon.
Our Beginners have been enjoying some great dances as well. Dances like "Higher & Higher", "My New Life", "Tush Push", "Working For The Man" & "Smokey Places".
Our next social coming up is our "Spring" social on the 5th September at Hampton Park, our theme for the night is "Spring", so wear your brightly coloured shirts, flowers etc. We are introducing Clogging into our social programmes from now on, so to all the Cloggers out there, make sure you bring your shoes along & join us for a great night. Lee Smith will be cueing the Clogging for us, Lee is well known & respected within the Clogging areas in Victoria, with tickets only $10.00 pre paid or $12.00 at the door, this is a very cheap night of entertainment. If you would like to book a table of 10 for the night, then please drop me a line.
Our next "Country Hoedown" will be on the 20th September at Devon Meadows. This will be our 'Footy' night, so grab your gear, dress in your favourite team colours & join us for a great night of dancing. Hope to see you there.
Well, that's all for this month, take care, have fun & I hope to see you somewhere on the dance floor.
